The police chief has stopped a group of police officers from ”usual duties” after an online video shows a scuffle between officers and a group of lads they had stopped.
The video was posted on Sunday and shows officers using batons on a man in Birmingham, UK.
In a statement, West Midlands Police said: ” Following the circulation of a video on social media relating to arrests made by WMP officers in Birmingham yesterday, an assessment of the footage continues. Whilst an assessment is being carried out by experts in the professional standards department, the officers featured in the video will not be deployed on usual duties. We are continuing to gather as much information as swiftly as possible to understand exactly what happened. We are treating this matter seriously”
A 28-year-old male was cautioned for possession of cannabis and A 20-year-old man arrested for a public order offence had been released under investigation.
